Using cards to link to content

You can use cards to link to content. Follow this screen capture to see how.

In this video we create a new fictional Latin language program page, publish it and then add a card to the main language page above it, then link the card to the Latin page.

Get started

  1. Create a new content page
  2. Publish the page
  3. Copy the URL for the page, for example:

    /content/doe/sws/schools/z/z-trainingp/www/primary/english

You can get the URL from the address bar of your web browser software. This will be used later when creating the card.
  4. Now go back to sites and edit the page that should have the card (or tile)
  5. In the desired location add a new card. This can be inside a 50/50 column control if needed.
  6. In the card configuration do the following:

    1. Select a style for the card. In the video we use card without image.
    2. Enter a title.
    3. Add a label if needed.
    4. Enter a short description.
    5. Choose an image (if it is already in assets) if you selected the card with image style, or upload it from your computer if you prefer. Add alternative text to go with the image.
    6. Paste the link in the provided field. This is what you copied earlier.
    7. Enter a call to action text for the button.
  7. Publish the page.
