Move a page

Use this guide to move a content page on your website.

Before you start

Don't move Global pages or News, Album, Events and Newsletter pages.
Authors do not have permissions to move pages. Ensure you have approver status to move pages within the site.

Navigate to the page you want to move.
Select the icon to the left of the page name. The tick will appear and your selection will turn blue.
From the menu bar select Manage Publication and Unpublish now.
Once this is unpublished, check on the live site the page is no longer showing.
Then in Sites, select the page again and select Move in the menu bar that appears across the top of the screen.

Change the Page title after move and Page name after move fields if necessary.
The page title and page name must be the same.
The page title is used for the navigation menu and main heading within the page.
The page name is used for the page URL.
Only use lower case letters, numbers and hyphens in the page name. Other characters – like spaces, question marks, percent signs, commas and ampersands – will cause issues.
Select Next button to continue.

Navigate to the parent page of your content page.
Select the icon to the left of the page name. The tick will appear and your selection will turn blue.
If the option is available, select Move in the top right and continue to Step 5.
Otherwise, select Next where you will confirm if pages linking to your page should be adjusted and republished.

If the option to Move page does not appear you may be trying to move a Must have page that cannot be moved.
