Newsletter freeform template

Use this guide to learn how to create a newsletter using Freeform template. You can build your own newsletter page in AEM now and link it to the actual newsletter.

Before you start

• Make sure you have created a newsletter. 

Step 1: Navigate to Home

• Log in to Adobe Experience Manager and select Sites.
• Your school's home page will already be selected.

Step 2: Create a new page

• Select Create in the top right-hand corner.
  
• The Create drop-down menu will display.
• Select Newsletter Template.

Step 3: Enter the newsletter title

• Enter the Title of your newsletter. For example: Term 3 Week 8.
• Do not include any punctuation in the title, including full stops. 
• Do not fill out any of the other fields.
• Select Create.

Step 4: Open your newsletter page

• A success message will appear once the newsletter is created.
• Select Open to edit the newsletter.

Step 5: Edit your newsletter 

• Select Edit in the top right of the page. This button is next to Preview. 

Step 6: Add banner

• You can place a static image, a carousel or a video as banner for your newsletter. 
• Learn more on how to place a banner image.

Step 7: Add components

• You can add components on the page to place information in your newsletter. 
• Select Drag components here then the plus icon. Here is the list of components you can begin with;
  • Accordion
  • Article
  • Column
  • Download Box
  • Image
  • Image gallery
  • Map
  • Quick links
  • Rich text editor
  • Schools Video
  • Video

• After creating your newsletter in AEM you can link it to the actual newsletter page.
• You link the newsletter template from the newsletter page as an internal link.
  

Publish your changes

• For changes to be updated on your live school website you will need to publish the page.
  
• Important: You should also publish this newsletter template first before linking it to your newsletter page.
