Author publish a page

Use this guide to publish a page as an author.

For changes to be updated on your live school website you will need to publish the page by starting workflow from the page

Once the workflow has been started an Approver will need to complete it. Approvers should follow these steps to complete a workflow.

Approvers do not need to follow these steps to publish a page of their own. If you are an approver, go to publish a page.

Start workflow from the page

Step 1: Start workflow

  • Open the page you want to publish.
  • Select the slider icon in the top left corner. This is the Page Information option.
  • Select Start workflow. 

  • Select DoE Page/Assets Publish Approval Workflow from the dropdown.

  • Add a message to your workflow so the approver can understand what you are requesting.
  • Select Start Workflow.

Step 2: Permissions and copyright

  • Read the information on copyright and select the relevant check boxes.
  • Select Ok. 

Complete workflow

Step 1: Approver view notifications

  • The school approver will receive a notification via email and when they log in to AEM. 
  • Select the notification icon.
  • Select View All.

Step 2: Notifications page

  • This page will display all pages that are subject to workflow and need some action.

  • Select the icon to the left of the page you want to publish. The tick will appear, your selection will turn blue and the actions toolbar will appear at the top of your browser. 
  • Select View Payload.

Step 3: Complete workflow

  • Select Complete from the top of the browser.

  • Select Approve from the dropdown.

  • Add a message to your workflow so the author can understand what you have decided.
  • Select Ok.

  • A message will appear at the top of the browser confirming you have completed the workflow and the page is now published.
