We are always working to make your websites easier to use and edit. Find out about our latest improvements. 

Release 3.0 – 17 September 2019 

  • Keyboard shortcuts in sites and assets actions toolbars.

Note: you may encounter a permission error while trying to log on to your school website. You might also encounter an error that asks you to switch to Google Chrome even while using Google Chrome. If you do, please clear your browser cache.

  • Creating a newsletter is now easier. The component has been redesigned with clearer labelling. You can drag and drop your files directly from your computer.

  • Editing a page is now simple. Go to the page you want to edit and select Edit this page from the Log in drop-down.
  • You can now go straight to our how-to guides from the main navigation after you log-in. We’ve removed the Projects icon because you don’t need it.
  • Request help from our friendly virtual assistant, ViTA. Select the green Help button and you can ask our virtual assistant your questions. If they can’t help, SWS Support is always available.
  • The QK Enrol URL https://www.qkenhanced.com.au/Account/Embeddable/ has been added to the whitelisting for iframe. You can now use QK Enrol in the script component.
  •  It’s easy to add a link to an alert on your homepage. This means you can provide your community with more information about emergencies or major health announcements.
  • Use links inside event components as they will now display correctly on event pages.

Release 1.6.2 – 21 February 2019

  • Quicker, easier image captioning when you’re creating an album. Now you’ll see a thumbnail preview of the images you select, as well as the filename.
  • The link text to your school plans has changed so it's clear users can download your plans for the last three years. For example 2018-2020 School Plan (PDF 252.7 KB)
  • The MailChimp URL https://us8.campaign-archive.com has been added to whitelisting for iframe. You can now use MailChimp in the script component.
  • We have a new favicon image. That’s the little icon you see in the browser tab when you’re visiting a website. We’ve stayed on brand with the NSW Government Waratah logo and it will remind your users they’re on a NSW government site.
  • You’ll be able to better manage your site's Google SEO too now we’ve added a Google site verification metadata to your site settings. This tells Google that you ‘own’ your school website.
  • We've improved the 'Contact us' map pin accuracy. And for multi-campus sites you can add precise latitude and longitude values in your metadata.

Newsletter upload changes 

The newsletter enhancement is the headline news in our latest release. Delivered it just in time for the start of the school year:

  • we removed 6 steps in the newsletter and PDF upload process
  • you can now upload your newsletter and other PDFs directly to the page
  • they will be automatically saved in the digital asset manager (DAM) in a year and month folder

Other enhancements

You'll notice some other important changes as you work on your website:

  • quicker way to choose images - from the asset picker instead of the path browser
  • less lag time between publishing and seeing the result on the page during peak times
  • YouTube component no longer displays related videos
  • emails you receive about changes to content from the department now look better
  • themes have been improved with some layout and display bug fixes.
