Soundcloud - Audio, music and Podcasts

Add an audio file using SoundCloud

Use this guide to learn how to embed an audio file on your school website using SoundCloud.

To add an audio file to your webpage. you will first need to upload it to SoundCloud then use the script component to embed it on the page.

Audio file examples include original school music, school podcasts etc. Below is an example of a recorded school assembly.

Before you start

Step 1: Navigate to SoundCloud

  • Go to SoundCloud and locate the audio file you want to add to your webpage.
  • On your audio clip, click on the Share button.

Step 2: Copy the embed code

  • When the Share dialog box opens, click on Embed.

  • Navigate to the Code field, then copy the entire contents of the box.
Note: It is important that you capture the complete code. Using an incomplete script may break your webpage in Adobe Experience Manager.

Step 3: Add the embed code to your webpage

Note: To minimise the risk of breaking the homepage or other existing webpage, we recommend you first create a temporary page to test the code. If successful, you can then copy the script component to the actual page.

  • Now you have the SoundCloud code copied, you can go and edit the webpage you want to add the audio file to.
  • Follow the instructions to add the Script component to your page.
  • In the Script component, you will paste in the embed code copied from SoundCloud.

  • Select the tick on the top right corner to save your changes.
  • For changes to be updated on your live school website you will need to publish the page.
