12 Feb 2021
Release 3.8 went live on 11 February 2021.
Included in this release:
- Calendar import
- Drag and drop uploads for image component
- Drag and drop uploads for image in news article
Calendar import
You can import your events from ICS files now using the calendar import component. This allows events contained in ICS files to be brought into your school website quickly.
The component allows for the ICS file to be uploaded from your local computer or from a web link if the file is publicly available (no login needed). The component will recognise events that it has already imported and allows you to filter events quickly if you need to import only specific ones. Once it is complete, it provides links to the imported events in case you need to do any further edits to them. When you are complete, you use Manage Publication to publish them all live.
See our how-to-guide explaining how to use this component.

Drag and drop uploads for image component
We have updated the image component so it now has drag-and-drop (or browse from your computer) functionality. If your image already exists in assets, you can browse through assets to find it. Otherwise, new images can be uploaded straight through the component.
Our how-to-guide explains how to use the updated component. See our image guidelines for general advice on images.

Drag and drop uploads for image in news articles
Along with the image component, we've update the news article component to allow image uploading to work the same way. Again, if you've already uploaded your image to assets you can still browse through assets, but for new images it isn't necessary.

Reminder on publishing news and events
When publishing news and events, be sure to choose website and app if you wish to have the event appear on the parent app. This setting will be made as the default in the next release.
